Weather In A Bottle
This magical bottle full of liquid is a Stormglass – an instrument designed to forecast the weather. Discovered hundreds of years ago by the early alchemists, the Stormglass was soon adopted by seafarers in particular because of its uncanny ability to predict storms.
The changes in the atmosphere ahead of on-coming weather fronts cause different crystals to grow in the liquid. Each type of crystal predicts a different type of weather – on average, two days in advance.
